The practice
Alexander von Bauer
Attorney at law in Munich, in independent practice for more than 20 years. The focus of the work: disputes with insurers and social security bodies.
How I work
My clients almost always face an organisation: a health insurance fund, a pension insurance body, a liability insurer. The other side has its own legal department, standardised procedures, and the experience that most people give up after the first refusal.
My task is to even out that imbalance. In practice that means reading the whole file rather than the refusal letter, naming the one point the matter turns on, and pursuing it consistently.
It also means telling you when I consider the prospects poor. Proceedings that do not hold up cost you time, money and energy – and most of my clients have little of any of those to spare.
Admission and insurance
- In independent practice as an attorney in Munich for more than 20 years.
- Admitted by the Munich Bar Association (Rechtsanwaltskammer München).
- Professional indemnity insurance with ERGO Versicherung AG, Victoriaplatz 1, 40477 Düsseldorf, valid throughout the European Union (section 51 BRAO).

The office
The office is at Seidlstraße 18a in München, a few minutes on foot from Munich central station. The premises have step-free access – with a client base that often comes to me for health reasons, that is not a detail.
Given parking conditions in the city centre, I recommend arriving by public transport.
A short call, before a deadline runs out
Ten minutes on the phone are usually enough to establish whether a case is worth pursuing and what it will cost.
